National Sprint Rankings: Sweet Holds Firm, For Now

With the two national touring series for 410 winged sprint cars both off over the July 4 week, many of the country’s top drivers were not in action.

As a result, Brad Sweet remains at the top of the National Sprint Car Rankings for a sixth consecutive week.

The High Limit Racing point leader has an average finish of 4.824 in 34 starts this season.

World of Outlaws point leader David Gravel ranks second with a 5.125 average finish in 32 races.

Tyler Courtney, Donny Schatz and Carson Macedo round out the top five in the standings.

Seventy-four drivers have reached 20 required starts to be eligible for the national rankings and 699 drivers have run at least one 410 main event this season.

Several drivers, led by Anthony Macri, who leads the nation with 12 victories, are approaching 50 starts. At that point drivers can begin dropping their worst finish. Macri has 48 starts.

Macri, who won the PA Speedweek championship, now leads the Eastern region.

Cole Macedo holds the lead in the Western standings and Sweet holds the top of the Mid-America region standings.

A winner at Attica Raceway Park on July 5, Cale Thomas leads the Great Lakes region. Mark Dobmeier has moved to the top of the ladder in the Great Plains region.

A.J. Flick continues to pace the PA-OH region and Robbie Price leads the Northwestern stanza.

One hundred and 29 drivers have won the 254 features run so far this season.
