Must See Returns To Points Racing In 2022

HOLLY, Mich. — The Must See Racing Sprint Series presented by Engine Pro schedule has been released for the series’ 13th season of competition.

The campaign kicks off April 29-30 at South Boston (Va.) Speedway and will be the first visit of winged sprint cars to the historic four-tenths-mile asphalt speedway.

It will be one of possibly three new tracks this season. Series officials are finalizing the details on at least two new tracks that will be announced soon.

The emphasis will be less travel due to the uncertainty of the current economy. For the first time in many seasons the series will showcase several events in the state of Michigan where the series is based.

Currently, the schedule shows six events in the state of Michigan, beginning with the second annual American Speed U.S. Nationals at Kalamazoo Speedway. Last year’s inaugural event was a fan favorite, ensuring that it would return in 2022. Additional details of this event will be announced in the coming weeks.

Other Michigan dates include Birch Run Speedway on June 10 and July 22 and lone appearances at M-40 Speedway on June 24 and Berlin Raceway on July 30.

Jennerstown (Pa.) Speedway returns to the MSR schedule for the first time in two years on Aug. 27. The event will be host of the annual annual David D. Mateer Tribute race.

Must See Racing will return as a promotional sanction for the non-points/special event Pink Lady Classic at Meridian (Idaho) Speedway Sept. 23-24. Last year’s event paid $20,000 to win and drew nearly 40 cars.

Finally, MSR will return to a points-paying championship format that will crown a champion. The championship chase was put on hiatus for the 2021 season due to the uncertainty of the pandemic. With a bigger schedule and more full-time teams committed in 2022, the championship chase will return.
