TULARE, Calif. – A minor change in the title of the Trophy Cup has been made.
The event, held annually at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., is now known as the Abreu Vineyards 26th annual Trophy Cup presented by Rudeen Racing.
Next week priority entry forms will be mailed to the 101 teams that were entered in last year’s event. Those teams will have until May 31 to submit their entry to guarantee a spot in the race.
After May 31 any team may enter until the maximum allowed 110 entries have been received. Any entries after 110 will go on a waiting list.
The Trophy Cup champion will receive a record $26,000 for accumulating the most points over the three days of racing. That record payout will be broken in 2020 when $27,000 goes to the champion. Each subsequent year will have an additional $1,000 added to the champion’s check.
The Abreu Vineyards 26th annual Trophy Cup presented by Rudeen Racing will not have any format changes. Thunderbowl Raceway will again host the event on Oct. 17-19.
