Marks Leads PA Speedweek To Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Night seven of the 32nd annual Pennsylvania Speedweek takes competitors south of the border to Hagerstown Speedway for the only event during the 10-day series scheduled outside the Keystone State.

Thursday’s event at the renowned half-mile dirt track will be broadcast live by SPEED SPORT affiliate, DirtTrackDigest.tv.

Hot off a victory Wednesday night at Port Royal Speedway, Brent Marks leads the Speedweek standings by 20 points over Anthony Macri.

Both Marks and Macri have won twice during the first seven nights, while Rico Abreu triumphed at Grandview Speedway the round at BAPS Motor Speedway was rained out.

Last year’s Speedweek round at Hagerstown was rained out. Kyle Larson, who has participated in this week’s three most recent Speedweek races, captured the event at the track in 2020.

Larson won the Speedweek title in 2020, but neither Marks, nor Macri has worn the prestigious crown.

Justin Peck, who won the Ohio Speedweek title in mid-June, ranks third in the standings heading to Hagerstown. Defending champion Danny Dietrich is seventh in the Speedweek points.

Seventy-five different drivers have participated through the first six nights of Speedweek.

Thursday night’s 30-lap feature pays $8,000 to win and $700 to start. Hot laps are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
