Marks, Grant & Hahn Headline Sprint Poll Winners

KNOXVILLE, Iowa — The National Sprint Car Polls for Non-Winged, 360 and 410 sprint car racing released their annual award winners in a Facebook Live chat Friday morning from the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

Justin Grant (Non-Winged), Blake Hahn (360) and Brent Marks (410) were named drivers of the year in their respective classes.

Grant drove the Topp Motorsports No. 5 to the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Championship, and the Topp Motorsports outfit owned by Kevin Birchmeier was tabbed as the team of the year in the Non-Winged division.

Drivers ranked second through fifth by the Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll were Brady Bacon, C.J. Leary, Robert Ballou and Kyle Cummins.

Other poll winners in the Non-Winged class were Joe Devin of DRC Chassis (Builder/Manufacturer of the Year), Chet Christner of USAC (Media Member), Kyle Cummins (Wild Card), the O’Conner family of Kokomo Speedway (Promoter of the Year) and Emerson Axsom (Rookie of the Year).

Hahn, who won the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Series title for the second consecutive year, was selected as Driver of the Year in the 360 division, with Blake Hahn Racing earning Team of the Year honors.

Wayne Johnson, Justin Sanders, Derek Hagar and Sam Hafertepe Jr. were ranked second through fifth.

Other 360 poll winners were Frank Galusha of EMI (Builder/Manufacturer), Bryan Hurlbert and Michael Rigsby (Media), Chase Randall (Wild Card), Kyler Johnson (Rookie) and Doug Johnson of Huset’s Speedway (Promoter).

Marks won the Kings Royal and the Historical Big One sprint car races on the same weekend and picked up 19 feature wins en route to Driver of the Year honors in the 410 class. His Murray Marks Racing No. 19 was tabbed as Team of the Year.

Brad Sweet, Anthony Macri, David Gravel and Carson Macedo ranked second through fifth.

Other award winners in the 410 Sprint Poll were Stevie Smith of Smith Titanium (Builder/Manufacturer), Anthony Macri (Wild Card), Brian Walker of the World of Outlaws (Media), Briggs Danner and Max Mitry (Rookie) and Doug Johnson of Huset’s Speedway (Promoter).

Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee and racing enthusiast Shane Carson was selected as this year’s recipient of the Tom Schmeh Award for Outstanding Contribution to Sprint Car Racing.

Pennsylvania native Todd J. Allen was the winner of the sprint car raffle to benefit the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.
