Marks Banks $50,000, Sweet Is Champ

FORT WORTH, Texas — Brent Marks went home with $50,000, while Brad Sweet captured his sixth consecutive national touring series sprint car championship Saturday night at the Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway.

Marks passed Daryn Pittman on lap 21 in what was a battle of Pennsylvania based cars on the four-tenths mile track, and led the remainder of the 30-lap event to win the season finale for the Kubota High Limit Racing series.

Emerson Axsom, Corey Day and Ryan Timms completed the top five.

Sweet, who had won three straight races entering the event, finished 19th, but wrapped up the High Limit title.

The conquest came in the wake of his five straight World of Outlaws title and in the first full season of High Limit on the national scale.

Sweet co-owns the series with Kyle Larson.

Day was the fast qualifier for the 32-car field.
