Anthony Macri and Corey Day will share driving duties of the Clauson Marshall Racing No. 7bc after full-time driver Tyler Courtney suffered a back injury at Rossburg, Ohio’s Eldora Speedway last Friday night. Courtney is expected to make a full recovery.Â
The team released a statement on Monday morning detailing the news.
“First and foremost, our goal at Clauson Marshall Racing is to see Tyler heal 100% from the injuries he sustained during the #KnightBefore on Friday night. We are fortunate to have two talented drivers fill in until that time arrives.”
Macri, who stepped away from driving duties of his family-owned No. 39m for Macri Motorsports last week, will pilot the No. 7bc in Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions races and World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series events on the CMR schedule.Â
Among the events Macri will run includes the Knoxville Nationals next month in Iowa.Â
Day, the current NARC 410 Sprint Car Series points leader, will contest the High Limit Sprint Car Series portion of CMR’s schedule.Â
“The relationship between Tyler Courtney, our family and our racing team is extremely important,” Clauson Marshall Racing co-owner Tim Clauson said. “He is not just our driver, he is family.
“It is a testament to our team, led by Jake Argo and Tyler, that we are able to get two drivers of this caliber to help us continue to compete and chase the ASCoC championship, while Tyler makes a full recovery from his injuries.”Â
