KKR Bringing Back McFadden In Pennsylvania

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Kasey Kahne Racing officials have confirmed that James McFadden will return to the seat of the No. 9 Wicked Energy Gum sprint car next weekend.

McFadden will pilot the machine in a trio of Pennsylvania events with the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions, starting at Bedford Speedway on Thursday, Sept. 5 and continuing at Port Royal Speedway on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6-7.

The Port Royal doubleheader represents the Night Before the 50 and the 52nd annual Tuscarora 50. Saturday’s 50-lap finale pays out a whopping $52,000 to the winner.

KKR revealed the news about McFadden’s return on social media Tuesday evening.

McFadden, who had been filling in for injured team owner Kasey Kahne through the NOS Energy Knoxville Nationals, built plenty of momentum with the No. 9 team after scoring the victory in the 360 Knoxville Nationals finale on Aug. 3.

He added an eighth-place finish in the 410 Nationals finale the next weekend, as well as wrapped up the Jesse Hockett Mr. Sprint Car title for KKR by accruing the most points during the annual Southern Iowa Speedweeks stretch that includes both Nationals events.

The Australian also has back-to-back All Star victories driving the KKR No. 9 this season, earned on July 25-26 at Plymouth (Wis.) Dirt Track and Jackson (Minn.) Motorplex.

McFadden returned home briefly to Australia following the Knoxville Nationals. Now he returns to continue the run he started through the summer with Kahne’s No. 9 team.
