CLEWISTON, Fla. — Mark Smith picked up where he left off last season in United Sprint Car Series competition, winning the season opener for the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters Friday night at Hendry County Motorsports Park.
Smith, who won 10 races with the series last year, started fifth and passed polesitter and Sprint Car Hall of Famer Danny Smith on the 25th and final lap to claim the victory.
Danny Smith finished second with Justin Barger, Derek Hagar and Todd Gracey completing the top five on the first of two nights of racing at the track.
Twenty-six 360 sprint cars were on hand.
