PUTNAMVILLE, Ind. – Kevin Thomas Jr. finally shook off his summer’s worth of bad luck and frustration with a Hoosier Midwest Sprint Car Series win at Lincoln Park Speedway Saturday night.
Thomas wheeled his familiar Dr. Pepper-sponsored No. 9k to the victory at the five-sixteenths-mile dirt track ahead of Stevie Sussex, with Brent Beauchamp crossing third.
Brandon Mattox and Dave Darland filled out the top five, followed by Brayden Fox, Travis Berryhill, point leader Chase Stockon, AJ Hopkins and Tye Mihocko.
Darland set fast time over the 41-car field with a lap of 12.598 seconds. Mattox, Darland, Stevie Sussex, Dakota Jackson and Donny Brackett won their respective heat races.
Making a rare sprint car appearance, USAC National Midget Series regular Cole Bodine topped the B-main.
