Hays Avoids Mayhem For Texas Triumph

WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Jett Hays took home the trophy for winning Friday’s Sprint Series of Oklahoma Racesaver 305 sprint car event at Monarch Motor Speedway.

Kyle McCutcheon took the lead as the green flag waved and led the first nine laps. Coming out of turn four, Kevin Ramey got underneath McCutcheon to claim the lead on lap 10.

Going into turn one, McCutcheon got into the back of Ramey, resulting in Ramey spinning into the wall. However, McCutcheon ended up hitting the wall and turning his sprint car over in the aftermath.

Hays inherited the lead as a result of the incident. After a red flag period to clean up the incident, Hays cruised to victory ahead of Jeff Bubak in second.

Danny Smith was third, followed by Chad Wilson and Dane Fields.

A field of 60 cars attempted to qualify for the 20-car main event.

Dustin Sutherland (pony stocks), Ruben Broussard (USRA factory stocks), Josh Cournoyer (USRA limited mods) and Kale Westover (USRA modifieds) were also winners.
