FORT JONES, Calif. – Tony Gomes and Menne Motorsports are teaming up, with the team slated to primarily focusing on the Sprint Car Challenge Tour championship and select other events.
The now 22-year-old Gomes is delighted to have the opportunity to compete with Menne Motorsports and find a more consistent home for the upcoming campaign.
“I’m certainly happy to get with such a good team that has had a lot of success over the years,” Gomes said. “I know that 75 car is potent and what they did with Sean Becker behind the wheel for so many seasons was always impressive.”
The plan as of now is for the Gomes/Menne combination to run for the Sprint Car Challenge Tour presented by Elk Grove Ford and Abreu Vineyards title. The SCCT schedule boasts 16 total dates at nine facilities throughout California.
Gomes will also pilot the familiar No. 75 entry at Silver Dollar Speedway’s annual Silver Cup and Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals.
“I really want to thank Dan and Cindi Menne for this opportunity,” Gomes continued. “I definitely appreciate having the chance to run a steadier schedule next season. The last couple years I’ve bounced around with different teams, so to have a solid foundation in 2022 will be huge. We’re excited to contend with SCCT and run some other shows as well. I can’t wait to work with Menne Motorsports and hopefully put together a strong season.”
