SOUTH AMHERST, Ohio — Cody Gallogly started the season just like he ended the 2021 season by capturing the Maxima Racing Oils Must See Racing Midwest Lights Series season opener Saturday night at Lorain Raceway Park for his second series victory. His first came in the last year’s season finale at LRP.
.In a bizarre start to the night’s 25-lap feature event, two red flags waved before the first lap was completed. When the race finally started, Gallogly got the jump from his outside front-row starting position and lead the event wire-to-wire. Gallogly won by a margin of 00.611 seconds over Joshua Sexton.
MSR Lights rookie newcomer Sawyer Stout put in a solid performance in his first series start with a third-place finish. J.J. Henes finished fourth and Andrew Bogusz rounded out the top five.
