CHICO, Calif. — Andy Forsberg won the 30-lap Platinum Cup at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Saturday night.
Driving the family-owned No. 92 sprint car, he led the entire distance after starting from outside the front row starting spot.
Dominic Scelzi used a late race charge to challenge Forsberg but couldn’t make any of his slide job attempts stick on the ultra-fast quarter-mile fairgrounds oval.
Colby Copeland you sat on the pole by virtue of being the high point getter over the three nights of racing as part of the 67th annual Gold Cup, brought the Brown-Eagle Racing No. 01jr home in third.
Corey Day’s No. 41 and Justyn Cox’s No. 31c filled out the top five.
The finish:
Andy Forsberg, Dominic Scelzi, Colby Copeland, Corey Day, Justyn Cox, Kyle Hirst, Ryan Robinson, Jayson Bright, Joel Myers Jr., Jodie Robinson, Grant Chaplin, Sean Becker, Stephen Ingraham, Max Mittry, Jesse Schotfeldt, Nick Larson, Brian McGahan Jr., Brock Lemley, Kaleb Montgomery, Landon Brooks, Michael Ing, Shane Hopkins, Isaiah Vasquez, Joey Ancona.
