Flud Doubles Down At Super Bowl

GREENVILLE, Texas — Frank Flud doubled up for the second time of the weekend and Garrett Benson put on a show by charging to his first career Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division triumph on Saturday during the finale for the season-opening doubleheader at Superbowl Speedway.

Flud was victorious in both the Stock Non-Wing and Winged ‘A’ Class main event for the second straight night and the fourth consecutive NOW600 Series event dating back to last year. Benson rallied from 12th to earn the Restricted ‘A’ Class feature victory.

Flud powered from fifth to garner his 38th career Stock Non-Wing win with the series. Ryan Timms posted a runner-up result with Johnny B. third, Karter Battarbee fourth and 12th starting Colton Corbin fifth.

Flud took advantage of a front row starting position to claim his 44 th career Winged ‘A’ Class series triumph. B. outlasted Bradley Fezard for second place with Jade Avedisian fourth and Jace Park fifth.

Benson became the deepest starting feature winner this season with his rally from 12th during the Restricted ‘A’ Class main event. Avedisian, who also became a first-time series winner on Friday, placed second with Rees Moran third, Jack Thomas fourth and Braxston Wilson fifth.
