ATTICA, Ohio – By way of his victory during the opening round of Cometic Gasket Ohio Sprint Speedweek on Friday, Cap Henry is atop the early Speedweek standings.
Henry, the current track points leader at Attica Raceway Park, earned a perfect 150-point haul for his win over Buddy Kofoid, who ranks second in the early Speedweek points with 146 but won’t run the full nine-race slog due to his full-time midget obligations.
All Star point leader Aaron Reutzel is third in Ohio Speedweek points, six back of the lead with 144, while Cale Thomas (142) and Cale Conley (140) follow closely behind.
With points dropping by two per position from there, Paul McMahan (138), Greg Wilson (136), Stuart Brubaker (134), Jac Haudenschild (132) and Lee Jacobs (130) fill out the top 10 in the Ohio Speedweek points through the first night of competition.
McMahan, the Ohio Speedweek champion in 2018, is the highest in points so far among the past champions in attendance during this year’s Speedweek.
Cometic Gasket Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Hercules Tires continues Saturday night with the first of back-to-back rounds at Fremont Speedway.
Reutzel is the defending All Star victor at Fremont, winning there in May of 2019.
