Dover Driving For Tim Estenson Motorsports At Knoxville

SPRINGFIELD, Neb. — Jack Dover is driving for Tim Estenson Motorsports next week during the 63rd annual NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s.

The marquee event runs Aug. 7-10 at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, and will likely draw more than 100 competitors.

“We’re going to tear everything apart this week,” he said. “We’ll do maintenance and we’ll make sure the trailer is stocked. We want to head over, be competitive and have fun.”

This will mark the season debut in the No. 14 for Dover, who has served as the crew chief for the team the last two seasons. He drove the car to a pair of third-place results in two starts last year.

“We had a couple of nights planned to race it this season, but things came up,” he said. “Last Saturday we were supposed to race at Knoxville, but we found some debris in the engine. It would have been huge if I had been able to run so we could get the car dialed in.”

Dover is seeking his first career A Main start at the 410 Knoxville Nationals.

“I want to make the A Main at these big events, but I think even making the C Main or B Main is a huge deal,” he said. “I think the closest I’ve been is I missed it by one spot two years in a row around 2007 or 2008. It was when I was running Knoxville weekly. To make the Knoxville Nationals A Main, I’ve been trying for so long so I’d be ecstatic. The big thing is we want to do well, but we need to have fun with it as well.”
