BRADFORD, Vt. — It didn’t hurt to have a last name beginning with D in the second leg of the Sprint Cars of New England Triple Crown at Bear Ridge Speedway on Saturday- just ask winner Dan Douville, runner-up Chris Donnelly and third-place finisher Clay Dow.
The 3D die was cast when young race fan Kaitlin Chaffee drew pill number three, which inverted the first three rows for the 30 lap feature. That started Douville on the pole, Dow second and Donnelly fourth, alongside his teammate Tyler Rich. Douville got going at the get-go and was never challenged during the green to checker event, which was run on a super-fast track before a large crowd. It was Douville’s second win of the year.
