SELINSGROVE, Pa. – With a second-straight Pennsylvania Speedweek presented by Red Robin victory Sunday night at Selinsgrove Speedway, Danny Dietrich leapt to the top of the overall standings.
Dietrich, who is chasing his second Speedweek title, heads Kyle Larson by 43 points – 487 to 444 – in the updated rankings through three of the nine events.
Larson has finished second, second and third to Dietrich’s fourth and pair of wins. Race winners receive 25 extra points toward their Speedweek title hopes compared to the runners-up.
Freddie Rahmer, still seeking his first Speedweek crown, is third in the overall standings with 414 points. Ryan Smith (352) and Brock Zearfoss (351) sit fourth and fifth, separated by just a single point.
Rico Abreu (347), Brent Marks (326), Lance Dewease (325), Lucas Wolfe (313) and Anthony Macri (289) fill out the top 10 in Speedweek points with six races remaining over the next six nights.
Dewease has only competed in two of the first three races, missing Sunday’s event at Selinsgrove.
Pennsylvania Speedweek presented by Red Robin continues Monday night at Lincoln Speedway with a 410 sprint-only show paying $7,000 to the winner.
Brian Montieth is the reigning winner of the weeknight Lincoln event.
