Diane Kinser, 79

Diane Kinser, known by most as “Nan,” died on Nov. 18. She was 79 years old.

The wife of National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Karl Kinser, Diane Kinser played a vital role behind the scenes, managing the finances of her husband’s No. 11 Karl Kinser sprint car racing team and also involved with the management of her son, Mark’s race team.

The No. 11 team became legendary for its success with Karl’s cousin, Steve Kinser, driving, and later achieved a pair of World of Outlaws championships with Mark Kinser at the wheel.

Diane Kinser is survived by her husband, her son Mark, daughter Karla and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
