ALGER, Wash. — Fifty-Five Promotions has announced the revival of Fred Brownfield’s Northern Speedweek Tour.
In a respectful tribute to the late Fred Brownfield, whose contributions significantly shaped dirt-track racing in the region, the group sought and received approval from Debbie Brownfield to honor his legacy and naming the tour after him.
The tour is set to commence on July 20 with a two-day event at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma Wash. The Hall of Fame Tribute 360 Battle Royale. The opening event pays $3,000 to win, while the July 21 race offers $5,000 to the winner.
The tour then proceeds to Southern Oregon Speedway in Medford, Ore., on July 23, before heading off to race at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Ore., on July 24.
Capping off the tour is a two-day event at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., on July 26-27 for the Bob’s Burgers and Brew 360 Summer Nationals, where competitors will vie for the fifth highest-paying 360 race in the country, with $15,000 earmarked for the Saturday night winner.
Fred Brownfield’s Northern Speedweek Tour is also set to feature one of the most generous points funds, paying $9,200 to the champion.
