ALBANY, Ga. – United Sprint Car Series point leader Tim Crawley chased Anthony Nicholson for the first 22 laps of Saturday’s event at Albany Motor Speedway, but it was Crawley eventually found his way to victory lane.
Nicholson, who appeared to be headed to his second win of the 2012 season, spun exiting turn two of the quarter-mile South Georgia clay oval while encountering lapped traffic on lap 23.
That spin put Crawley on the point, a position he held for the remainder of the 30-lap feature. It was Crawley’s second visit to USCS victory lane in a row and 14th of the season.
Defending USCS National Champion Terry Gray raced to the finish line behind Crawley in the runner-up spot. Nicholson, who only lost three positions during his complete spin, recovered to collect third place.
Morgan Turpen and Jerod Roller completed the top five.
