HANFORD, Calif. — Tyler Courtney is having the best season of his winged sprint car racing career and it continued Friday night at Kings Speedway.
Courtney drove his Clauson Marshall Racing No. 7bc past polesitter Brad Sweet with 10 laps remaining in the Peter Murphy Classic and drove to his fifth Kubota High Limit Racing triumph of the season. It was his 11th overall victory this season.
Courtney earned $20,000 for the victory.
Courtney, who started second, lead third-starter Rico Abreu to the checkered flag in the 35-lap event.
Sweet, the High Limit point leader, finished third. Cole Macedo came home fourth, with James McFadden fifth.
Cory Eliason was the fast qualifier for the 43-car field with a lap of 13.197 seconds.
