Courtney Cruises To $22,000 Triumph

KOKOMO, Ind. — Tyler Courtney raced from outside the second row to win his third Kubota High Limit Racing sprint car feature of the season Monday night at Kokomo Speedway.

Driving the familiar Clauson-Marshall Racing No. 7, took the lead from Michael Kofoid on lap 22 and led the remainder of the 30-lap event to earn the $22,000 top prize in the Midweek Money Series event at the quarter-mile track.

Spencer Bayston romped from 12th on the grid to finish second, while Kofoid came home third.

Cory Eliason and point leader Brad Sweet, who started 10th, completed the top five.

Cale Thomas was the top qualifier for the 42-car field with a lap of 10.945 seconds.

Kyle Larson and Thomas were battling for a transfer position during the first heat when the pair collided, sending Larson’s Paul Silva No. 57 flipping down the backstretch. He was uninjured.
