California Ace Stephen Allard Dies


According to reports, popular California sprint car driver Stephen Allard has died.

Allard, the older brother of King of the West Sprint Series champion Jonathan Allard died shortly before the Christmas holiday and details of his death remain sketchy at this time.

Racing sprint cars for more than 20 years, Allard won more than 200 races and grabbed five championships during his career.

Allard finished second in the standings at Placerville (Calif.) Speedway in 2012 with four victories at the quarter-mile oval.
