Border Town Throwdown Wraps Up At Caney Valley

CANEY, Kan. – Frank Flud, Bradley Fezard and Jack Thomas capped the Border-Town Throwdown by winning Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division features on Saturday evening at Caney Valley Speedway.

Flud charged from 16th to garner his 10th national Stock Non-Wing triumph of the season. Johnny Boland placed second with Fezard, who leads the championship standings, rounding out the podium. Timothy Watson III finished fourth and Kenton Brewer ended fifth.

Boland and Fezard each won a heat race.

Fezard registered his first career Winged ‘A’ Class win with the series after starting on the inside of the second row. Noah Key was the runner up with points leader Jade Avedisian maneuvering from eighth to third. Boland was fourth and Flud rallied from 14th to fifth.

Chelby Hinton and Fezard were the heat race winners.

Thomas held off championship points leader Avedisian for his first-ever Restricted ‘A’ Class victory with the series. Tyler Kuykendall posted a third-place result with Garrett Benson fourth and Kayden Cole fifth.

Benson and Kuykendall claimed the heat race wins.

The NOW600 Series season concludes on Nov. 7-8 at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla.
