Bacon Sets Sights On Winter Challenge

PEORIA, Ariz. – Two-time Western World Champion Brady Bacon has set his sights on Winter Challenge 2014 at Canyon Speedway Park.

The Winter Challenge, which takes place  Jan 24-26 and Jan. 30-Feb. 1., will mark the first traditional sprint car event of the year with six complete nights of racing in just nine days as the best of the best kick off 2014.

Bacon, who won back-to-back Western World titles in 2009 and 2010, will make his first appearance at Winter Challenge. Bacon competes in both winged and non-winged sprint cars across the country and just completed his first full year with the Hoffman race team in the USAC National Sprint Car Series.

Aboard his own familiar 99 sprint car that carried him to a pair of runner-up finishes at the 2013 Western World, Bacon will return to CSP in just a little more than two weeks with high hopes of standing on top of the podium.

The 2014 Winter Challenge will feature top sprint car drivers from around the country as the USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series faces off with the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series, while IMCA modified aces complete the program.

More than $100,000 in “A” Feature money alone will be distributed over the course of the blockbuster event that kicks off with the $2,000 to win Winter Challenge opener on Jan. 24, and will conclude with the $5,000 to win finale on Feb. 1st.

Nearly 100 drivers from across America are expected to participate.
