Abreu Holds Off Sweet At Skagit

ALGER, Wash. — Rico Abreu grabbed his fifth Kubota High Limit Racing victory of the season Friday night at Skagit Speedway.

The $10,000 triumph came on the second night of the Sage Fruit Nationals at the three-tenths-mile track.

 

Abreu started outside the front row and held off point leader Brad Sweet, who started fourth and collected his 19th podium finish of the season.

James McFadden finished third, with Corey Day and Cole Macedo completing the top five.

Sweet leads the event points after two nights and he, Justin Sanders, McFadden and Abreu are locked into Saturday night’s $102,626.26 main event.

Jacob Allen was the fast qualifier with a lap of 11.886 seconds.
