ALGER, Wash. — Rico Abreu earned the biggest payday of his career Saturday night at Skagit Speedway.
Abreu earned his sixth Kubota High Limit Racing feature of the season and his second in as many nights to claim the $102,626.26 top prize in the Sage Fruit Skagit Nationals at the three-tenths-mile track.
Abreu started from the pole, but chased outside front row starter James McFadden through the early laps of the 40-lap event.
But Abreu got around McFadden on lap 15 and dominated the remainder of the event aboard his familiar No 24 sprint car.
McFadden came home second, while point leader Brad Sweet rounded out the podium. McFadden earned $30,000 for second and Sweet picked up a check for $20,000.
Shane Golobic and Jacob Allen completed the top five.
