ATLANTA — The United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters will open its 23rdseason of winged sprint car racing with the second annual USCS Winter Heat Series.
The series will consist of 10 races at six venues in three southern states, beginning Jan. 25 and concluding March 9. Last year’s inaugural Winter Heat featured six events.
The USCS sprint car season opener and the USCS Winter Heat rounds one and two take the green at Hendry County Motorsports Park in Clewiston, Fla., Jan. 25-26.
The series makes a Florida Speedweek appearance at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla., for rounds three and four of the series Feb. 8-9.
The USCS Winter Heat driver/team contingent then moves farther North and West into the Florida Panhandle to Southern Raceway in Milton, Fla., for a pair of events Feb. 22-23.
On the following weekend, racers and fans alike can follow the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters North and West again into the state of Mississippi to two of the series favorite venues. On Friday, March 1, the series competes in the USCS Winter Heat Series round seven at Hattiesburg (Miss.) Speedway. On the second night in the state of Mississippi, the series invades the three-eighths-mile Magnolia Motor Speedway for the 11th annual Frostbuster 150.
The final weekend of the Winter Heat Series presented by FireAde sends the United Sprint Car Series to the third-mile oval at Chatham Speedway in Chatham, La., on March 8-9.
The second Annual USCS Winter Heat Series events are expected to draw some of the top 360 winged-sprint car drivers from across the nation.
The United Sprint Car Series Winter Heat portion of the 10 events will give drivers an opportunity to pick up their share of the over $120,000 in posted cash prize winnings plus contingency awards during the mini-series schedule.
