TULSA, Okla. — SPEED SPORT and MyRacePass have joined forces to provide race fans with bonus coverage of the 33rd running of the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals, which runs Monday through Saturday inside the River Spirit Expo Center.
Live From the Chili Bowl presented by MyRacePass will provide editorial, exclusive features, video and social media coverage of the six-night event through SPEEDSPORT.com’s official LIVE From the Chili Bowl Presented By MyRacePass web page located at http://speedsport.com/livefromthechilibowl and its various social media outlets. Chili Bowl content will also be accessible via the MyRacePass App, which provides live timing and scoring coverage of the Chili Bowl, as well as other racing events throughout the season.
RacinBoys.com will provide nightly coverage of all the racing action from the quarter-mile Tulsa Expo Raceway dirt track, while MAVTV will again televise Saturday night’s main event. SPEED SPORT will provide pre- and post-race coverage of the event.
“The Chili Bowl is one of the most prestigious events in all of motorsports. It’s a race that every short-track racer dreams of winning. SPEED SPORT has been a staple in covering the Chili Bowl since the very first running of the race won by Rich Vogler in 1987,” said SPEED SPORT President Ralph Sheheen. “It is our pleasure to step up our commitment to the event with Live From the Chili Bowl presented by MyRacePass coverage. While Racin’ Boys and MAVTV will supply streaming and television coverage of the races, SPEED SPORT will focus on what happens after the checkered flag and before the next green flag.”
MyRacePass launched its App at last year’s Chili Bowl.
“The partnership between MyRacePass and SPEED SPORT has already proven to be a benefit for the Motorsports community,” says Josh Holt, co-founder/co-owner of MyRacePass. “The trusted SPEED SPORT content coupled with the technology and distribution behind the 11 years of developing MyRacePass creates an unparalleled fan experience.”
The first Chili Bowl Nationals was a two-night event in 1987 and has expanded over the years. This year marks the first time that six nights of competition will make up the Chili Bowl.
“I remember having a press conference 15 or so years ago, when the cafeteria was down here at the east end of the building, where all we had was two newspaper guys. One was from California and the other was from Oklahoma City; we had the Tribune and the World at that time,” said event co-founder Emmett Hahn. “Now, the media’s come in and we have all the support from MyRacePass as far as timing and scoring and everything that they do with us, and then to have things going on like SPEED SPORT’s ‘Live From The Chili Bowl’ series this year just shows how far this thing has come and what it means not just to Tulsa, but across the country and worldwide.”
