TULSA, Okla. — Kyle Larson will return to the Chili Bowl Nationals for the first time since 2022 during Thursday night’s preliminary action on Jan. 11.
He did not compete at the indoor midget race in 2023.
The two-time event champion (2020, ’21) will pull double duty, as he is already scheduled to run a dirt late model for Kevin Rumley at the Wild West Shootout at New Mexico’s Vado Speedway Park over the weekend.
On Thursday evening, Larson will pilot the No. 98k for Keith Kunz Motorsports at the Sage Net Center. The midget is a backup car for Tanner Carrick, who won Monday night’s preliminary feature to open the 38th annual Chili Bowl.
According to the post released by the Chili Bowl Nationals via Twitter, Larson will “fly to Tulsa for Thursday’s prelim.”
Should he lock into Saturday’s A main via a top-two finish in the prelim on Thursday, Larson also plans to return to Tulsa following the dirt late model feature at Vado Speedway Park on Saturday afternoon.
