TULSA, Okla. — Three-time and defending Chili Bowl Nationals winner Kevin Swindell got his week off to a solid start, winning the Vacuworx Invitational Race of Champions.

The 20-lap race featured 15 all-star drivers on the quarter-mile Tulsa Expo Raceway dirt track.

Swindell passed J.J. Yeley on the final lap to win the race for the first time, but it was the third straight year a Swindell won the race as Kevin’s dad, Sammy, won the race the previous two years.

Sammy Swindell finished third, ahead of Chad Boat and Jerry Coons Jr.
