LEBANON, Ind. – Officials of the United States Speed Association regret to announce that they are being forced to cancel the final two races scheduled for the Mel Kenyon Midget Series at the Indianapolis Speedrome.
Track management notified USSA that the facility on the east side of Indianapolis would not honor their previously agreed upon schedule with the USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series for the remainder of the 2012 racing season. Track management contacted USSA Thursday afternoon.
The USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series had two remaining races at the Indianapolis Speedrome, Friday, July 27 and Friday, Aug. 3.
USSA Officials will announce the results of the Mel Kenyon Midget Series Indianapolis Speedrome Challenge by Aug. 1.
“We regret this decision because we know that many fans and competitors were looking forward to following the tight points race in the Mel Kenyon Midget Series Indianapolis Speedrome Challenge to its conclusion in the next two weeks.” said USSA President Don Kenyon. “Unfortunately, when the track management notified us Thursday afternoon, we were put in a position where canceling these two events was the only option we had.”
The USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series will resume competition with its dirt track swing on Saturday, Aug. 11 at U.S. 24 Speedway in Logansport, Ind.
