TULSA, Okla. — Friday night preliminary feature winner Justin Grant will start on the pole for Saturday night’s Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals 55-lap feature at Tulsa Expo Raceway.

Grant won Friday night’s #BCForever Pole Shuffle powered by Pizza Express that set the top 12 starters for the main event.

Grant pulled off his second victory of the night by defeating Christopher Bell. The 11 rounds began with Zach Daum winning over Colby Copeland. Leary trumped Daum in the next round to face Ronnie Gardner who went on to race Daryn Pittman. Winning the three-lap dash, Pittman retired with mechanical issues, leaving Danny Stratton to face Jake Swanson. Downing Stratton, Swanson was defeated in the next round by Tyler Courtney who put away Travis Berryhill before spinning while racing Justin Grant for the runner-up spot.

Bell will share the front row with Grant. Row two will feature Courtney and Berryhill.

Rounding out the top 12 starters will be Jake Swanson, Danny Stratton, Larry Wight, Daryn Pittman, Ronnie Gardner, C.J. Leary, Zach Daum and Colby Copeland.

None of the 12 qualified drivers has won the Chili Bowl.

Saturday’s all-day program will begin with a pair of O Mains and proceed to run the full field through the alphabet before a pair of B Mains will set the remainder of the starting field for Saturday night’s feature.

A record 365 drivers have participated in this year’s Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals.

Grant and Courtney each drive for Clauson-Marshall Racing, while Hard Eight Racing also has a pair of drivers locked into the feature with Swanson and Gardner.

Interestingly, Bell is the only Keith Kunz Motorsports driver among the top 12.

Clauson-Marshall drivers Shane Golobic and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. start on the pole for the two B Mains.
