KANKAKEE, Ill. — Second-generation midget racer Cale Coons won Friday night’s Advanced Fastening Supply Badger Midget Auto Racing Ass’n season opener at Kankakee County Speedway.
Driving Joe Dooling’s familiar No. 63 machine, the son of Jerry Coons Jr. started 12th in the 25-lap main event and steadily worked his way to the front to claim the victory.
Daniel Robinson finished second, with R.J. Corson, Kyle Stark and Parker Jones completing the top five.
