COLUMBUS, Ind. — Midget racer Kaylee Bryson drove her first TQ midget race on Tuesday night and went to victory lane at Tony Stewart Speedway at Bartholomew County Fairgrounds.
Bryson, 21, took the lead from Joey Paxson on the 16th lap and led the remainder of the 20-lap event for her first TQ midget victory in the race that was sanctioned by the All Star Circuit of Champions TQ Midgets.
Bryson, who runs full time on the USAC midget circuit, drove a care owned by Larry Martz.
“The team reached out to me,” Bryson told The Republic. “They were looking for a driver, and it all just worked out.”
Paxson finished in second and polesitter Matt Lux of Manilla took third. Rylan Gray and Tate Martz completed the top five.
