Bell Stars In Western Springs 50 Lapper

WESTERN SPRINGS, New Zealand – Christopher Bell took home top honors in Saturday’s 50-lap midget main event at Western Springs Speedway.

Bell started on the pole but quickly gave up the lead to Michael Pickens. Bell stayed glued to Pickens’ bumper and managed to get back by Pickens to regain the race lead on lap 20.

Once out front Bell led the rest of the way to pick up the victory.

Pickens, who won the companion sprint car feature, settled for second. Logan Seavey was third ahead of Brock Maskovich and Zach Daum.

Kyle Larson, who won the most recent midget feature at Western Springs on Thursday, crashed on lap 43 and failed to finish.
