ANDERSON, Ind. – Spencer Bayston battled 2012 Mel Kenyon Midget Series Champion Travis Young and a mid-show rain storm to put his third straight win on the board at Wednesday night’s Anderson Speedway.
Bayston dove under Young going into turn three on lap 12 to grab the lead. He extended his lead to a winning margin of nearly two seconds.
A heavy rain halted the qualifying for the Must See 60 Sprint Cars, forcing USSA officials to line the heats up based on practice times. Following a excellent effort by the Anderson Speedway track officials and workers to dry the track, Jessica Bean and Cordy Horn would go on to win the midget heats.
Horn, Bean and Dameron Taylor put on an exhibition on the Anderson High Banks for the majority of the race in the fight for the third spot. When the checkered flag finally fell on the 30-lap feature, Horn, Bean and Taylor would claim the third, fourth and fifth spots with the three cars separated by less half a second.
