Open Wheel Showdown Set At Lucas Oil Speedway

WHEATLAND, Mo. – The 11th annual Impact Signs Awnings Wraps Open Wheel Showdown is set for this Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway. 
 
A big tripleheader of action is on tap featuring the ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs Awnings Wraps, the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products, the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprints and the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series.
 
“The Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps Open Wheel Showdown always is a night that our open-wheel fans look forward to,” Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. “This is some of the best winged sprint and non-winged sprint and midget car action that you’ll see and we thank Impact Signs Awnings Wraps for again making this event possible.”
 
Blake Hahn leads Ryan Timms by 39 points for the early season points lead in the ASCS Warrior Region. Timms prevailed in the Open Wheel Showdown in the spring of 2021.
 
The POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint championship chase finds C.J. Leary 50 points in front of Wesley Smith, the defending champ at the Open Wheel Showdown.
 
In the POWRi National Midget Series, leader Bryant Wiedeman is just 10 points clear of Cannon McIntosh. Emerson Axsom won this race in 2021.
