ENNIS, Texas — Making the trip from Nixa, Missouri to Ennis, Texas worth the miles, Wesley Smith found his way into victory lane at Big O Speedway with the ASCS Elite Non-Wing Series presented by Abilene Powder Coating on Saturday night.
Smith’s first career win with the series, on top of being his first in an ASCS sanctioned event, the No. 44 took the green from the fourth position. Chasing Paul White through the opening four laps, a restart on Lap 5 saw the No. 1 pull out of line with a mechanical issue, putting Smith to the point where he would stay the rest of the race.
Trailing Smith by 1.367-seconds at the close of the 20-lap affair, Raven Culp crossed second with Josh Hawkins third. Rolling from 13th, R.J. Miller made it to fourth with Keith Martin making up five spots to finish fifth.
