ROCKY MOUNT, Mo. — NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. has entered a partnership with former ASCS sprint car champion Jason Johnson and Jason Johnson Racing.
Together the pair has created Stenhouse Jr. Racing with the team fielding the familiar No. 41 for Johnson for the full ASCS Lucas Oil Dirt Sprint Car Series schedule and a second car No. 6 for Stenhouse in selected races.
The team, which will utilize Roush Yates Ford engines, will also enter a car for Johnson in 20 to 25 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series races, helping bring Ford back to big-time winged 410 sprint car racing.
“Growing up racing sprint cars with my dad, I’ve always had strong ties to sprint car racing,” explained Stenhouse. “Partnering with Jason and being able to bring some exposure to Ford on the grassroots level is very exciting for me. This will add some fun to my racing season while also adding value to our partners, such as Ford, Roush Yates and AccuDoc Solutions.”
Jason Johnson Racing was the 2011 ASCS owner’s team champion.
“We value the beginning of this new alliance with Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.,” stated Jason Johnson. “Team JJR strives to provide each sponsorship partner professionalism and results, on and off the track. We greatly appreciate the support and friendship we have with our current partners, and look forward to representing our new partners, AccuDoc Solutions, Roush Yates Racing Engines, Ford and Valvoline.”
