Finally, Daggett Breaks Through

FIFE LAKE, Mich. — Dustin Daggett turned in a stellar performance Friday night at Cherry Raceway during the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP feature taking his first win of the season.

The term “hooked up” is used a lot in sprint car circles, but Daggett was most definitely hooked up for the 25-lap main event as he started third and jumped into the lead at the green flag.

It looked as if the feature may go green to checker with Daggett passing cars at will but on the 20th circuit, the No. 70 of Jim Lingar spun in turn four.

On the restart, it was Daggett, Ryan Grubaugh, Ryan Ruhl, Gregg Dalman and Steve Irwin. However with some lapped traffic in the mix, Daggett was able to continue his run to the checkers and once again was untouchable.

The finish:

Dustin Daggett, Ryan Grubaugh, Ryan Ruhl, Gregg Dalman, Steve Irwin, Greg Wheeler, Troy Chehowski, Jay Steinebach, Robert Huisken, Joe Geibe, Andy Chehowski, Jim Lingar, Andy Tuenessen, Matt Lumbert, Eric Smith, Chris Jones, Brett Mann.
