GLENPOOL, Okla. – Brandon Anderson will move up from ASCS regional competition and embark on a rookie season in 2022 with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network.
“I’m excited to take on a new challenge,” Anderson, the 18-year-old, said in a statement. “We picked up speed with the Sooner Region in 2021 and were in contention for the championship. The Sooner Region races a lot against the national drivers, and we were able to run with them; plus, with the way Terry [Mattox] has done the schedule and the point fund for next year, it opened the door for us to make the move.”
A quick ascension through the racing ranks, Anderson began racing go-karts at age 5, followed by time racing junior sprints at 8, with the move to micros started at 10 and the jump to sprint cars by 13.
Anderson ran a RaceSaver Division the first couple of seasons and moved to the ASCS Sooner Region in 2020.
Ending up second to Jeremy Campbell for the 2021 ASCS Sooner Region championship, Anderson collected a trio of wins.
Looking at his overall performance through several ASCS Regional and National events in 2021, Brandon’s strongest trait was consistency. Overall Anderson posted 17 top five finishes and 22 top 10 finishes.
Piloting the All-Pro Auto Reconditioning/Everest Stone No. 55b, he will be joined on the road by his father, Kyle Anderson, along with crew chief Bobby Craft and crew member Seth Stenzel.
In addition to All-Pro Auto Reconditioning and Everest Stone, the team will welcome back Permastone Countertop Solutions, Broken Arrow Powder Coating, Keizer, Moss Racing Engines, Outlaw Wings, Smiley’s Racing Products and Simpson.
“Without the sponsors, this thing would not be possible, and we are still looking for more help,” Anderson said. “There is definitely an added cost with racing the national tour, so we’re looking for help with tires and fuel now.”
