WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. – Scott Bogucki hopes to return to action this weekend during the 31st annual My Place Hotels 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank if his body allows.
The SawBlade.com sponsored driver missed the final five nights of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour’s ASCS Sprint Week last week and he will not attend Tuesday’s race in Kansas following a crash on July 25 at Riverside Int’l Speedway. Not only did the impact end his night early, it injured his neck and back.
“I’m getting better,” he said. “My neck is still bothering me, but my eyes and back are better. It just stretched all the tendons between my vertebrae. I’m waiting for the swelling to go down to get better.”
Bogucki has been strong at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, which hosts the marquee event this weekend. Bogucki’s preliminary night is scheduled for Friday with the finale on Saturday.
“We want to go straight into the show,” he said. “The last three years I’ve made the Saturday feature. I’d like to start inside the top 10. Honestly, if we get the car like we can get it we’ll be just fine.”
Bogucki produced his career-best 360 Knoxville Nationals last year when he placed fourth during preliminary action before finishing 13th during the finale.
