ASCS Reviving Northern Plains Region

DRUMRIGHT, Okla. – Officials from the American Sprint Car Series have announced plans to revive the ASCS Northern Plains Region this year.

Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D., Gillette Thunder Speedway in Gillette, Wyo., and Casper (Wyo.) Speedway will combine to host 18 events this season.

The regional tour will host events within a roughly three-hour window and also keeps the region under ASCS rules. With the exception of a few dates that do overlap, teams that are able to can still compete with the Brodix ASCS Frontier Region on a regular basis.

Based at Black Hills Speedway with 13 events, Casper Speedway will take four with Gillette Thunder Speedway seeing a single night. The tour runs from May through September.

The ASCS Northern Plains Region, which last operated in 2009, will operate under the direction of Eddie Kirchoff.
