Titan, the St. Neots based specialist component manufacturer, has been awarded the contract to design and manufacture the steering rack for the Mygale Formula 4 car.
Formula 4 is part of an FIA initiative to simplify driver progression and preparation leading up to Formula 1, which will be launched for 2014. Formula 4 should act as a first step on the road for young karters into single seaters.
The new car features a carbon monocoque, sequential gearbox, adjustable front and rear wings, double wishbones and pushrods, twin dampers, adjustable anti-roll bar and a retractable steering column.
“We are very pleased to have been chosen by Mygale as their technical partner for the steering rack on the new Formula 4 car,” commented Titan managing director Adrian Shepherd. “It’s a testament to our expertise that we have been selected and we are proud to be part of this exciting project.”
The win comes hot on the heels of Titan’s launch of a new range of products at the recent PMW Expo in Cologne, to be followed by yet more new products at the forthcoming Autosport Int’l show.
At Autosport Int’l, Titan will exhibit in both the engineering section of the show as well as the main show, sharing a display with the Bloodhound SSC, for which Titan are the chosen steering rack provider.
