TRG Confirms Pirelli GT4 America Roster

Spencer Pumpelly’s The Racers Group Porsche.

PETALUMA, Calif. – The Racers Group has revealed its driver roster for the Pirelli GT4 America series.

The team plans to field three new Porsche GT4 Clubsport MRs for a collection of drivers, including Spencer Pumpelly, Chris Bellomo, Dr. Jim Rappaport, Derek DeBoer, Sean Gibbons and Kevin Woods.

Pumpelly will be driving the new TRG/LaSalle Solutions, Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR during the Pirelli GT4 America sprint races. A road racing veteran, Pumpelly has driven for The Racers Group on multiple occasions, most recently returning to the team in 2018.

“The upcoming Pirelli season should be a fun challenge in the brand-new, Porsche Cayman GT4,” said Pumpelly. “The field will be strong and the short races make for an intense on track battle every time we take the green. The schedule takes us to some exciting venues and, with the Support of LaSalle Solutions, Adobe Road Winery, and The Racers Group, we are positioned for a great 2019.”

Bellomo and Woods will share the No. 67 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR during the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX West races.

Bellomo started his racing career in 2017 after a few local track days got him hooked on racing. Last year he garnered nine Silver Class victories and the Pirelli Trophy West USA Series championship. Most recently, he won the GTD class at Rennsport and broke the PCA Racing GTD class qualifying and race lap track records at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Woods, a California native, began racing at the age of 38. The late start hasn’t hindered him as last year he earned 10 victories and the Pirelli Trophy West USA series Diamond class title.

Finally, Rappaport, DeBoer and Sean Gibbons will share the No. 17 Porsche Cayman GT4 during Pirelli GT4 America SprintX East and West races.

Rappaport, a spinal surgeon, began racing three years ago with the Sports Car Club of America, and he has since gone on to compete in the Pirelli Trophy Cup, where last year he earned a runner-up result in the championship. He’ll race in the Pirelli GT4 America West events with DoBoer.

DeBoer began racing 17 years ago and hasn’t stoped. He’s competed all across the United States and has been a part of The Races Group since 2013. He’s competed in the Rolex 24, the 25 Hours of Thunderhill and the LeMans Aston Martin Festival. DoBoer will split his time competing in both the Pirelli GT4 America East and West divisions.

Last but not least, Gibbons competed in his first race in 2012 and has only competed in eight professional races. He’ll team with DeBoer in the Pirelli GT4 America East races.
