Shoulder Injury Sidelines Dinan From GT4 America

SONOMA, Calif. – Following an on-track incident earlier this month at the SRO GT4 America event at Virginia Int’l Raceway, Flying Lizard Motorsports driver Michael Dinan will have to withdraw from the next two events.

Dinan will miss a total of eight races between the Sprint and SprintX double headers at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Sonoma Raceway.

The 20-year-old suffered a shoulder fracture, and while Dinan will not have to undergo surgery, he will be unable to race for eight weeks while his shoulder heals.

“Michael’s health and recovery is our top priority,” said Flying Lizard Program Manager Darren Law. “It’s certainly a disappointment to no longer be attending next week’s races at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, but we’re hoping to be able to run with other customers at our home event of Sonoma Raceway.”

While Dinan recuperates, the team will prepare the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport for its next race event at Portland Int’l Raceway, July 12-14.
