Sellers Conquers Hong Kong Jaguar I-PACE Race

HONG KONG – Bryan Sellers became the first American racer to win a Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY race Sunday, winning at the Hong Kong Central Harbourfront Circuit.

Driving for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, Sellers bested his teammate and the series’ most recent winner Katherine Legge to secure the victory. Legge finished second, giving Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing a sweep of the top-two spots.

“Winning in these tricky conditions in the first, true street race is a great victory,” said Sellers. “The weather wasn’t always on our side this weekend but adding maximum race day points is a fantastic achievement. It’s great that Katherine and I have been able to stand on the podium for the last two races and I hope this will continue in Sanya.”

Brazilian Sérgio Jimenez started last but rose through the field to take the final podium position. His daring overtakes included a final corner move on Simon Evans to clinch third, dropping Evans to fourth.

Jimenez’s teammate, Cacá Bueno, started the 25 minutes plus one lap race on pole and lead the race for the first few laps, but he misjudged the first corner and that dropped him to fifth at the checkered flag.

Yaqi Zhang of Jaguar China Racing took his first win in the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY PRO-AM series.
